  • Job Description: Crystal Community Ski Club Coaches provide the highest level of ski coaching and instruction to team athletes of the ski club in a safe and fun manner. The Nordic Coach will create a nurturing environment in which to teach both Classic and Skate techniques to students from 4th - 12th Grade - Squirrel, Middle and High School Teams.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities: Upholding the highest levels of athlete safety on varied terrain with varying winter weather conditions.

    Create a fun environment that is conducive to learning by employing a variety of appropriate teaching strategies.

    Encourage enthusiasm for skiing / riding, the learning process, and the further development of good skiing / riding skills

    Follow The Resort’s etiquette guidelines while interacting with guests and respond to all guests in a courteous, professional manner. Maintain positive relations with students, parents, visitors, and general public at all times.

    Communicating instructions and delivering a season long progression of skills.

    Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, respect, and professionalism at all times.

    Attend all required training, safety and other meetings, required both by the club and company.

    Demonstrate a commitment to improving personal skiing / riding and teaching abilities through attendance of supplementary training.

    Conduct lessons according to the standards set out by Crystal Community Ski Club programs.

    Staying in communication with parents regarding participant development.

    Know the safety procedures for missing or injured students and guests.

    Availability to help put on Flying Squirrel 5k Race and Airsoft Biathlon.

    Other duties as assigned.

    Job Specifications:

    Ability to work in extreme weather conditions

    Downhill or XC ski experience.

    Strong social skills. Be able to engage, encourage and communicate creatively with elementary age children.

    Ability to make learning to ski a fun activity.

    Helpful to own XC ski equipment but not required.

    Dedicated to exceeding service standards and providing services and standards to the highest caliber.

    Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.

    Clear and concise verbal communication skills.

    Must be able to abide by the company appearance standards and compliance with the designated uniform.

    Dependable and meets goals.

    Exemplifies professional conduct and adherence to company Core Values.

    Education:

    High School diploma or equivalent

    Physical & Other Requirements:

    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear.

    The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

    The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.

    Able to work any shift, weekends and holidays as schedule and weather dictates.

    Job Description: The Master The Mountain (MTM) Coordinator works on the administrative side the MTM program, reporting to the MTM Director. The Coordinator will assist with coaches and practices, take attendance and check athletes in at practices, as well as help develop spreadsheets and rosters. This position will work closely with the MTM Director and the CCSC Operations Manager.

    Scope of Responsibility:

    Develop a roster of participants and work with MTM Director to determine seasonal groups

    Meet regularly with CCSC MTM Director

    Be at MTM practice at least 450 minutes early, and check in youth as they arrive

    Help late arriving youth find their coach

    All above points will be in coordination with the MTM Director

    Other duties as assigned

    Timeline: This position begins on January 1st, and ends on March 15th. This position requires up to 4 hours per week. The Volunteer MTM Coordinator will arrive at 1:15 PM each Sunday.

    Compensation: This is a volunteer position. Your child (1 max) will receive a free registration to the MTM program

    Outside of Scope: Any coaching is not included in this role, and will be compensated separately.
