OUR PROGRAMS

From the most competitive athlete to those that are just learning or are more interested in socializing with friends, we have something for everyone!

ALPINE PROGRAMS

  • Whether someone is experiencing their first turns or advanced challenges like gladed tree runs, ungroomed slopes and moguls, race courses, "most difficult" Black Diamond runs, or Terrain Parks, skiers and snowboarders will benefit from guidance and coaching through lessons.

  • Master The Mountain is the learn to ski/snowboard component of The Crystal Community Ski Club (CCSC). We are a family-oriented snowsports club where youth, ages 7 through 17, can learn or advance alpine skiing and/or snowboarding in a fun and encouraging environment.

  • Athletes looking to improve their competitive race skills and race results will work with our top coaches in Crystal Race Academy! Race Academy is geared towards experienced racers or those whose competitive skill level is high. 1, 2, 3 or 4 practice days per week.

  • Take racing to the next level with the CCSC Middle School Ski Team! For students from 6th to 8th grades, racers will enhance their race skills and participate in ski invitationals at various ski areas in the region.

  • Held in late December or early January, these camps offer top notch race and freestyle instruction.

NORDIC PROGRAMS

  • Our Nordic Rocks Program takes place at elementary schools in and around Benzie County. Kids learn how to cross country ski on the playground, and 4th and 5th graders also get to learn at Crystal Mountain.

  • The Nordic Squirrel Program is designed to be a playful, 8-week introduction to Classic Cross Country Skiing. We also have an advanced Squirrel program.

  • From the student who wants to learn the basics of Cross Country skiing to enjoy our winter trails, to those endurance athletes looking to build the technique and fitness to compete in Statewide XC races, we welcome all! Practices held 1-4 days per week with optional races on the weekends.

  • Rollerski through the summer while you have fun and continue your nordic training.

TEEN LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS

  • Have you wondered what the people in red jackets with a cross do on the mountain? What about those in the yellow vests who are present when someone needs help? Join the Jr. Patrol program to gain basic skills and learn more about being a member of the National Ski Patrol!

  • Learn what it’s like to work as an instructor, even if you have no experience other than being interested in knowing how to ski or snowboard.

  • MOUNTAIN MOVERS: TEEN LEADERSHIP COUNCIL

Play fun games on the mountain, eat great food and join other teens in helping to shape the future of Crystal Community Ski Club programs. You have great ideas, and we want to hear them! In this 8-week program, you’ll team up with other teens, instructors and volunteers to form friendships, ski the mountain, share your ideas and (of course) eat!
