CCSC Alumni Charlie Reuterdahl Begins Next Chapter at Burke Mountain Academy

CCSC is proud to celebrate the next step in the ski racing journey of CCSC alumni Charlie Reuterdahl, who will begin her freshman year of high school this fall at Burke Mountain Academy in East Burke, Vermont.

Burke Mountain Academy is one of the country's premier ski-racing academies, with a long history of developing athletes who go on to compete at the World Cup, Olympic and U.S. Ski Team levels. After racing with Burke during her seventh- and eighth-grade seasons, Charlie went through a rigorous application process and was selected to attend high school and race for BMA.

Charlie spent six seasons racing with CCSC, where she developed the foundation and passion for ski racing that would eventually lead her to Burke Mountain Academy.

“After being invited to BMA, I realized I would not have the ski foundation necessary if it weren’t for my time at CCSC,” she said.

“Charlie was an absolute star at CCSC, both on the course and in how she treated others. Her attitude, dedication and drive will take her far, and we are incredibly proud to have been a part of her ski career,” said CCSC Executive Director and Charlie’s former coach Hunter Steinkamp.

Charlie’s family saw that development firsthand.

“We joined CCSC at its inception because we thought it would be a fun activity to bring the family together and allow her to grow athletically. What we found was a commitment from the ski club to give our daughter the tools and support to achieve her best,” said Charlie’s father, Ross Reuterdahl.

“Charlie is now striving to achieve her dreams at BMA, and that journey was made possible by her roots at CCSC,” Ross added.

Charlie’s journey represents what CCSC hopes to provide for young skiers: a place to start, a community to grow within, and a pathway to pursue whatever comes next.

“While not every CCSC athlete will pursue ski racing at the highest level, the club’s goal is to give every kid the coaching, confidence, community and opportunities they need to reach their potential—whether that means racing at the national level or simply developing a lifelong love of winter,” said Hunter.

For Charlie, those goals are big.

“My goal is to make it to the U.S. Ski Team,” she said.

CCSC is proud to have played a part in Charlie’s journey and will be cheering her on as she takes this next step toward her goals. We know she can do whatever she sets her mind on doing!
