From CCSC to College Ski Racing: Braydon Sorenson Joins New England College Ski Team

Crystal Community Ski Club (CCSC) alumni Braydon Sorenson will continue his alpine ski racing career at New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire, where he will compete on the school's Alpine Ski Team. 

Sorenson has been involved with CCSC for several years as both an athlete and coach. During his freshman year of college, he also served in administrative roles with the organization.

“I will be majoring in Business with a concentration in Accounting while competing on NCAA supported and varsity alpine ski team competing in the MacConnell Division, allowing me to continue pursuing my passion for ski racing while earning my degree.” said Braydon. 

“We recognized Braydon’s talent and drive from the beginning. We are happy to have played a role in helping him achieve his goals, and can’t wait to see what comes next.” said CCSC Executive Director Hunter Steinkamp. 

Steinkamp added that CCSC's mission extends beyond developing strong Alpine and Nordic skiers.

"Just as importantly, we're helping young people develop the character, work ethic, and confidence they need to succeed in life," he said.

Sorenson credits his time at CCSC with shaping him both personally and professionally.

"The greatest lessons I learned during my time with CCSC weren't directly about ski racing or coaching. They were about caring for people, having the opportunity to grow as a person, and making a positive impact on others,” Braydon remarked. 

He said those experiences continue to influence his future.

“Crystal Community Ski Club has had an impact on the person I am today, unlike any other organization. Through coaching and racing, I learned the importance of hard work, responsibility, and giving back to the community. The mentors and experiences at CCSC helped me grow both personally and professionally, giving me the confidence to pursue my goals. As I begin my new endeavors in alpine ski racing for New England College, I know the lessons I learned at CCSC will continue to guide me both on and off the mountain,” said Braydon.
