Olympian Doug Lewis Bringing ELITEAM Camp to CCSC

Crystal Community Ski Club (CCSC) is excited to announce a unique training opportunity for young athletes this fall, partnering with Olympian and nationally recognized youth development coach Doug Lewis to bring an ELITEAM camp to Northern Michigan.

The camp offers a rare opportunity for Northern Michigan athletes to learn directly from an Olympian while gaining practical skills they can apply throughout the upcoming winter season.

Hosted by CCSC and sponsored by Crystal Mountain, the two-day camp will take place October 3–4 and promises an engaging, high-energy experience designed to help athletes build the physical and mental skills needed to succeed both on and off the race course.

ELITEAM is a nationally acclaimed program for athletes ages 10–18 that combines sports physiology, sports psychology, sports nutrition, and plenty of fun. Participants will tackle creative physical challenges while learning how and why to train their bodies effectively. The camp focuses on developing strength, speed, balance, power, and agility, while also teaching athletes how to manage pressure, overcome fear, handle stress, and compete with confidence.

"I am so excited to return to Crystal Mountain this October to work with the CCSC athletes and coaches! Skiing and riding are all about pushing limits, and to do that, athletes need strong bodies, smart nutrition, and a mindset that is ready to focus, take risks, learn from mistakes, and most importantly, have fun,” said Lewis.

“Throughout the weekend, we will challenge the athletes with creative physical, mental, and nutritional exercises designed to educate, inspire, and build confidence. We will also focus on teamwork, connection, and creating memories that will help carry their energy and excitement into the season ahead."

CCSC is proud to share this opportunity with both club members and the broader ski racing community. Saturday, October 3, will be reserved exclusively for CCSC athletes, while Sunday, October 4, will be open to all interested youth athletes from across the region. Camp is open for athletes ages 10-18.

“CCSC is beyond excited to host this event. It’s a showcase of our commitment to ski race development in Northern Michigan,” said Hunter Steinkamp, CCSC Executive Director.

Athletes and families are encouraged to register early and take advantage of discounted pricing available through July 15. With limited spots available and strong interest expected, early registration is highly recommended.
